Microstructure, Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Al/Cu/SiC Laminated Composites, Fabricated by the ARB and CARB Processes

The aim of the current work is to investigate effect SiC particle weight percent and rolling passes on Al/Cu/SiC laminated composites, fabricated by accumulative roll-bonding (ARB) cross-accumulative (CARB) processes. optical microscopy (OM) images composites revealed that despite good bonding layers, they underwent plastic instabilities as a consequence strain hardening layers. However, these occurred more in ARBed than CARB process. This because latter process, are rolled two directions, which leads better distribution. Furthermore, with an increase passes, particles were well distributed matrix interfaces. mechanical findings showed that, increasing there was growth values strengths elongation. behavior believed be related increased work-hardening distribution reinforcing particles, enhanced interfaces at higher passes. In addition, results thermal conductivities downward trend passes; fact, number Al/Cu declined heat conduction composites.
